sliced off portion of my knuckle with a knife making Paulie's birthday cake - there it is!!: can't remember if this was the first or third slice (another reason to love terrazzo!! so easy to clean!) staunching the bleeding with gauze and gloves changing the dressing injury #2 was deep 1 stitch needed (but not gotten) in fleshy part of left hand at base of index finger injury #3 is now fine... had derm. appt anyway (dr. david o. was soooo unimpressed!!), and he gave me some flesh colored surgical tape that breathes and sticks now that your appetites have been whetted, I will post food soon!! comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. /now learning to type with 9 fingers/the hand short story that I read as a kid and of which I could not remember the title or author...martha reminded me of both yesterday comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. but I am not leaving before finishing my pasta, gosh darn it! maccheronie al torchio with cauliflower (and anchovies!!) with parsley to taste...well, I do like parsley and didn't want what I had (and had already washed and de-stemmed) to go to waste jennifer and I had to do a little something yesterday gettin the big hair showin(flaunting?) the big boobs very uncomfortable about speaking in public....waiting, waiting, waiting... and I tried to get a good show of camera shy Berta (a wonderful makeup artist), but she wont let me (AND she is way sexy/hot) comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. supermodel!!! (btw - this a term that should never be uttered in a serious manner or in polite conversation) with our beloved Sebastian! last minute tweaking jesus h. those stools/chairs are uncomfortable and awkward!! comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. if you didn't listen to yesterday's show..there may be audio clips up soon.. it was a little crazy in our studio. so please note, the picture of me with the mint balls in my mouth is ONLY funny if you heard yesterday's show... Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy Don't know why you guys have trouble with frozen bread. I actually prefer most breads after freezing. Here is my "bread drawer" more buttermilk dressing(a different one from this month's or last month's donna hay magazine - no oil but tastes great) on nutrition free iceberg!! and spinach, tomato and feta pasta didn't suck comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. i have often said that i am waiting to have a dream where my mother will come to me... well, dammit, that happened last night. and it wasn't great. crap. it wasn't even good. I finally made Jim Lahey's No Knead Bread and it worked perfectly! I had tried it a year or so again and it never worked as I wanted it to, but this time it looks just like his too hot to cut into...will check it out later I am so proud of myself I am including a second shot: about the discoloration of plastic containers: obviously, no tomato sauce and you can only wash them in the dishwasher if you have the "plastics" setting or they will turn orangeish comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. good bread for sandwiches or toast...just ate two heels after slicing and before freezing...very "tender" however, they claim not much kneading needed, but it's still a 5-7 hour process from start to finish comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. nyc in the snow...a foot or two more, then maybe it would be something to talk about west side highway and hudson river empire state building and chrysler building snow plows (the worst in the country?) comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. "Dear Alexis, Why do behave so badly on the radio and so nicely on your blog? I know the radio demographic is different. Are you trying to appeal to a "shock jock" type audience and gain ratings through off-color topics and bad language? It's a confusing duality you present." Well, I guess because people are allowed to be "dirty" and corrosive (and hopefully amusing) and still care about things, enjoy cooking, be interested in design and information of all kinds, etc. I find straight, informational, daily radio shows fairly intolerable if they are not as highly produced, researched, and edited as, say, the news and information on public radio. I am not a reporter. I am not "sweet." I am not interested in chatting about kittens and cookies on the air (unless they are euphamisms for something else). I am sure Kelly Ripa can be nasty...my mother claims Rush Limbaugh is lovely in person (puke)...etc. I don't think there is a "duality" but rather more than one dimension in most people. Jennifer and I are not trying to be shocking - we really are talking like we do when no one is listening. comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. without trying: ha! gluten isn't the only thing that can make you fat! although so much butter leaked out of the removable bottom pans that the bars might not be that bad... and butternut and sage bucatini poached squash (a minute or two too long) added to butter and olive oil, salt and pepper and sauteed added sage and garlic and continued to brown after adding pasta (slightly underdone with some of the reserved squash water comments unrelated to this blog post (as well as incomprehensible, insane, and out-of-control-nasty comments) will not be posted. read mary karr's "lit". entertaining read but she's kind of affected.
